Membership
To participate on the BCY swim team all swimmers must have a full Brandywine YMCA membership; this is a YMCA of the USA requirement.
Program Fee
Program fees are available in the Fall/Winter Season Brochure for Winter Swim Team and the Summer Brochure for the Summer Swim Team. A program fee flyer is posted on the Parent's Bulletin Board (located at the double doors next to the pool). National and Junior National teams may pay in three installments. Regular team may pay in two installments. Swim Academy will pay in one installment. All fees must be paid before the first dual meet of the season. Please speak with the aquatic director if a special payment plan is required. Multiple swimmer discounts for swimmers in the same family will be applied at registration. Please inform the Member Service Desk staff before registering your family.
Financial aid is available so that no one is ever denied participation due to an inability to pay. Information is available at the Member Service Desk or directly from the Aquatic Department.
USA Swimming Fees
Entry fees paid by swimmer – USA Individual Registration is included in program fee.
The Brandywine YMCA Swim Team offers United States swimming for swimmers in Levels 1 – National for additional competition and experience. USA Swim Meets provide swimmers with the opportunity to swim events they do not swim during the course of the YMCA Dual Meet season. USA membership is good for one year. YMCA meets take first priority over USA meets. USA Swim Meets will not interfere with YMCA Dual meets. Coaches will choose the USA meets that BCY will attend.
In order to attend USA Swim Meets, BCY swimmers must be a current member of USA Swimming. If you are a member of USA Swimming but representing another team, your USA Swimming membership must be transferred to the BCY Swim Team. A USA Swim Meet schedule will be posted on the BCY Swim Team bulletin board, as well as specific meet information as it becomes available. Swimmers choose their own events from the posted meet list. No late entries will be accepted. Payment must accompany all entries. Host clubs do not issue refunds for missed swims. Swimmers may not attend USA meets without coaching staff.
To transfer a USA Swimming membership:
- Complete the Middle Atlantic Swimming Transfer from. These forms can be found on the BCY Swim Team Bulletin Board in the hall outside the pool or from the Head Coach.
- A swimmer must swim UNATTACHED if it has NOT been 90 days since the last date of competition with the swimmer's last swim club.
