A strong, unified working parents group helps to ensure a smooth and successful swim season.
- Attend informational meetings
- Check the website for informational updates
- Check the bulletin board and swimmer folder on a regular basis
- Participate at every home meet and as needed by your team coordinator at away meets
- Get your swimmer to practice and meets prepared and on time
- Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all meets supporting all swimmers
- Support your swimmer and leave the coaching up to the coaches
- Follow the Parent Code of Conduct
- For Jr. National and National Team parents: sign the National Team Fund Parent Terms of Agreement
Needed for Swim Meets
Home Meet:
League/Y-Certified Officials - Volunteers will be sent to YMCA or Penn-Del training clinics. YMCA covers certification fee.
- Starter/referee (can be same person; must be certified official)
- 2 Stroke Judges (must be certified official)
- 1 Place Judge (no certification needed; experienced parents will provide instruction)
- 6 Lane Timers (no certification needed; experienced parents will provide instruction)
- 1 Backup Timer (no certification needed; experienced parents will provide instruction)
- 1 Head Scorer (no certification needed; experienced parents will provide instruction)
- 1 Scorer (works with head scorer and scorer from away team)
- 1 Announcer (no certification needed; announces the Star Spangled Banner; leads Pledge of Allegiance; announces swimming events and swimmers for each event)
- 1 Runner (no certification needed; collects recorded times from timers)
- 1 50/50 Ticket Seller
- 2 Parent Patrol (to help with younger swimmers)
- 4 Snack Bar Workers
- 4 Pre-meet Setup/Post-meet Take Down Workers
Away Meet:
- 2 Stroke/Turn Judges (must be certified official)
- 1 Place Judge (no certification needed; experienced parents will provide instruction)
- 6 Lane Timers (no certification needed; experienced parents will provide instruction)
