Practice updates for the week of 2/6/12

Wednesday 2/8 practice will end 15-20 minutes early. Please make sure you are here for your swimmer at the right time.

Friday 2/10 NO PRACTICE due to Championships
Saturday 2/11 NO PRACTICE due to Championships
Sunday 2/12 7:30-9am: Practice for DISTRICT Qualifiers ONLY (Coaches will make sure that those swimmers who make Districts at Champs know to come to practice.) Any questions please email Coach Ray (rlease@YMCABWV.org) or Coach Jenne (jschroeder@YMCABWV.org).

Championships on 2/10/12 & 2/11/12

Parking: All swim team families and guests are asked to park in our lot to the right of the main entrance or the church lot located on Airport Road, directly across from the Y. YMCA parking is in the upper section of the lot, adjacent to the West Chester Christian School building. All swimmers and spectators will use the Swim Team door located on the side of the YMCA facility closest to Airport Rd.

Charlie Hartley Memorial Meet on 2/25/12

Choose a maximum of 3 events

reminders for parents

Locker Room Etiquette: PLEASE talk to your swimmers (boys and girls) about shower room etiquette. Showers are to be turned off when done, caps full of water, shampoo, body wash etc are NOT to be thrown around the locker rooms. Lockers are not to be opened or gone through. There should not be any type of horse-play or bullying, teasing, name-calling, or foul language in the locker rooms. We are having multiple complaints about Tues, Wed, and Thurs evenings. Please help!! I know this is only a very small handful of swimmers our members are seeing behave this way, but it affects the whole team and how members and Y Staff see the entire Swim Team. Thank you. Please ask swimmers to represent BCY right
Late to practice: many swimmers are arriving 10+ minutes late to practice, those swimmers who come late will be marked late and emails will be sent to parents to make you aware. We are not able to see your swimmer enter the Y so we do not know if they are in locker room or actually late. When your swimmer does arrive late they will need to wait until the set the other swimmers are working on is over. They are not able to just jump in and swim. Older swimmers Level 3 and up, who miss warm up, will be sent to the lap lane if possible to warm up. Warm up is an important part of practice as it prepares them for the work they will be doing in practice.

Starting Oct 24th, the pool deck will be closed to all parents of all levels except for Developmental and Mini.

The deck will only be open to all other levels on Fridays, starting Nov 4th

Parent Aquatic Committee (PAC)

All Parents are members of the PAC. Currently, there are many openings on the PAC Board. Please consider volunteering and sharing your ideas and talents.
Open Positions include: Co-Leaders, Corresponding Secretary, Meet Set-up and Equipment Coordinator, Social/Welcome/Banquet Coordinators, and Snack Bar Coordinator.

The PAC Board meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 6pm in the Y's conference room.
